I was referred onto Dr Macutkiewicz from Stepping Hill to do a complete cholecystectomy & correct the previous operation they'd done. He was fantastic, listened to all my questions answered everything in full, explained the procedure in full including sketches and went through the possible complications of my particular surgery. He put me completely at ease and I felt confident that he would do everything he could to correct the problems I was having. On the surgery day, once I'd had the operation he personally called my next of kin to advise how the surgery had gone. He visited me every morning in hospital to check how I was progressing & in my follow up appointment 8 weeks after the operation he answered my queries. I'd definitely recommend him as a consultant, he's given me my quality of life back again.

I cannot speak too highly of Christian Macutkiewicz. From my initial consultation, 2 weeks later I had my operation for my gall bladder removed and I feel like a new person. Christian explained the procedure (diagrams included), went through all my options and I did not at any time feel worried or scared. After the operation I was surprised how much better I felt, 2 weeks later I actually kept forgetting that I had had an operation. I would recommend Christian Macutkiewicz to anyone and the care I had from the Spire Hospital in Manchester. First rate start to finish. Thank you.

A day care operation for hernia. Very careful initial consultation. The procedure involved open surgery and following the operation he took great care to explain how the procedure had gone and the slightly unexpected, but minor, complication that was involved. Very clear and reassuring follow up meeting after 6 weeks.

Mr Christian Macutkiewicz operated on me using the "Whipple Procedure" ( a major surgical procedure) in order to remove a cancerous tumour on my pancreas. At all times, both during the pre-operation phase and post - operation phase he exhibited total professionalism, a totally caring attitude towards me and equally importantly he explained things in detail to me, again a reassuring factor. Given the seriousness of the operation he helped to alleviate many of my personal fears especially when the words "tumour" or "cancer" were ever used. I have total respect for him and would certainly recommend him to others.
